2016 Breaks All Previous Records for Global Processing Services
Global Processing Services (GPS) has once again had a phenomenal year. Our dynamic company has always been known for providing unrivalled services with flexibility and control at the heart of our success. Due to exceptional growth the recent year has been about upscaling our platform, as well as hiring the resources to support our continued growth, as we look forward to some of our largest prospective clients going live in 2017.
GPS has attracted experienced individuals from a range of backgrounds. In the last year, we have had colleagues join our team from the likes of JP Morgan, VISA, FIS, Raphaels Bank, Atom Bank and PFS.
The year of growth - a review of 2016:
Jan: GPS wins 2 awards in the US for “Change Agent of the Year” and “Fraud fighter”, the latter for its GPS Protect product, at the 10th Annual Paybefore Awards.
Feb: GPS signs strategic partnership with Noor Bank in UAE taking GPS’s integrated global issuer list to over 30.
Mar: GPS exhibits and presents on stage, showcasing its 10 years’ experience of EMV processing at All Payments Expo, New Orleans.
Mar: GPS partners with Olio Retailer Rewards to offer its programme managers a turnkey solution for cashback rewards from tier 1 merchants for both ‘card present’ and ‘card not present’ transactions.
April: GPS exhibits at Money 2020 Europe in Copenhagen.
May: GPS announces partnership with W2 to further enhance its services to include global KYC coverage
May: First clients go live with full SEPA banking services in Germany and France
June: GPS Exhibits at Pay Expo London and presents on stage the services it offers prepaid programme managers, challenger banks and traditional banks.
June: GPS takes on Robert Courtneidge on Brexit and wins! - Payments Punch up at Pay Expo London.
June: GPS’s own Suresh Vaghjiani voted into the Payments Power 10, coming in 4th as one of the leading influencers in the industry.
July: GPS goes live with Agency Banking, via its partnership with Bottomline Technologies, to offer program managers an API driven banking solution for Faster Payments and Direct Debits. First programme being U-account with Wirecard as the issuer.
Aug: London Office expansion with acquisition of additional premises to accommodate a 30%+ increase in staff since the start of 2016.
Aug: GPS breaks Emerging Payment Awards record by being shortlisted for 9 awards with a further 15 for its clients including Monzo, Curve, Pockit, Osper, Kerv, Tuxedo, Emaar, PPRO, Bread4Business (PCS), Aurae, Flex-e-card, Wirecard, IDT, PSI-Pay, Paysafe.
Sep: GPS’s own Neil Weeks was voted by the industry as the “smartest person in payments” in the Paybefore publication.
Sep: GPS breaks record for the Payment awards after being shortlisted for 9 awards.
Sep: Member of Parliament Chi Onwurah visits the UK GPS offices to discuss how GPS services the leading Fintech’s in Europe.
Sep: Thierry Bricman and Emily Utton join GPS as Head of Implementations and Head of Account Management.
Oct: GPS wins Leading Emerging Payments Organisation and Best Customer Facing Innovation, the latter with its client Revolut, at the prestigious Emerging Payment Awards in London.
Oct: Four GPS clients and partners win awards at the Emerging Payment Awards, including Kerv, Curve, Wirecard & Raphaels Bank
Oct: GPS upgrades data center hardware infrastructure and performs primary data center migration to increase volume handling capability and platform robustness
Oct: GPS attends Money 2020 Las Vegas as the number of US clients continues to grow steadily
Nov: Lisa Grahame joins the GPS senior management team from JP Morgan where she was Executive Director in the Global Technology organisation. Lisa joins as CTO-Technology Operations.
Nov: GPS is short listed for “Best Technology Initiative of the Year” at the Card and Payment awards 2017
Nov: GPS partners with Pannovate to allows its clients to have personalised image payment cards agnostic of card manufacturer
Nov: GPS’s own Suresh Vaghjiani, as EPA advisory board member, is selected to lead project international trade to represent the UK Payments sector on behalf of UKTI and CBI.
Dec: GPS wins Banking Innovation Award at PayExpo MENA in Dubai.
Dec: GPS exhibits and presents on stage at London’s Fintech Connect Live conference.
Dec: GPS wins Fintech Finance Award for Payment Technology for the Year in London
Dec: The GPS Business Development team closes the year with 33 new clients signed over the 12 month period to break previous records.
Dec: All key business operating metrics increase by over 100% year-on-year for the second consecutive year, including processing volume, settlement value and GPS business turnover.
We of course hope that 2017 will prove to be a fantastic year for us, as we aim to continue our run of industry awards at the Card and Payment awards in February. In addition, current projects such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, and the launch of a number of partner challenger banks in early 2017, illustrate exciting times ahead.
