Tell us a little more about yourself

I’m part of the GPS Business Development team. I was born and have spent all my life in the North West part of London with my family and friends. Apart from English I speak fluent Urdu and Hindi.

What’s your role at GPS?

Being part of the business development and sales team, my main responsibilities include developing relationships with various stakeholders from all parts of the payments ecosystem to support raising the company profile and services among potential prospects and generate business opportunities for the organisation. My role is to also provide guidance in understanding the clients’ project needs and aligning these with our GPS services and solutions available.

What does your average day look like?

Each day involves liaising with different sets of prospects and clients to understand their project needs, provide direction by answering to any queries they may have on GPS products and services and further help them shape their product card programme offering.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy building relationships with clients and other peers in the industry. Each time I meet someone new it’s a learning experience for which I am grateful. It’s fulfilling to gain insights and extra knowledge into the industry with every exchange. I take great pleasure in contributing to helping our clients achieve the outcome they were expecting and benefits their business, especially seeing a new organisation flourish from the services GPS is able to provide is really exciting!

What did you want to do growing up?

I wanted to be professional boxer!  There was so much excitement around boxers when I was growing up and I admired so many of the greats. Today, I still enjoy boxing but don’t think the job is for me anymore!

What would be your advice to anyone wanting to start a career in the same job role and industry as you?

You need to work hard and always believe in yourself.  If you do have a real interest towards wanting to work in the Fintech space, then my advice would be just go for it! There are so many varied roles available in this industry there is sure to be one that will fit you! Don’t think there are barriers, the only limitation that exist is those we create ourselves or those that people try to put on you. You will achieve anything you set your mind to, but remember to always put people first and your ego aside.

When you’re not at GPS what do you get up to in your free time?

I usually go to the gym so I can be physically fit which has a positive impact on other aspects of my life. I also like to spend a lot of time with my family and friends outside of work.

If you could be anyone who would it be and why?

Honestly, I would be myself, as my parents have instilled the best morals, values and principles for which I am will be forever grateful to them. They are my two angels who will always be in my heart.
