Tell us a little more about yourself
I was born and brought up in Kottayam, a nearby City of Cochin in India, however I now live in Cochin with my wife and 2 children. I started my career in Bangalore and worked there for 2 years before moving to work where I live now. I hold a Masters degree in Computer Applications and also speak fluently in English and Malayalam. I have over 10 years of experience in QA, and have been working for GPS Core since Jan 2015.
What’s your role at GPS?
I work as a QA lead on GPS Projects.
What does your average day look like?
Each day involves a variety of tasks mainly consisting of testing, QA team management, meetings & release support.
What do you like most about your job?
I really like that it is a challenging domain and there is always a lot of new things to learn everyday. Things are constantly changing so I need to keep up to date on the latest knowledge.
What did you want to do growing up?
I always wanted to work in technology or IT and I hoped I would move towards being a Payment Card Industry (PCI) domain expert.
What would be your advice to anyone wanting to start a career in the same job role and industry as you?
Learn the payment card industry well, always adapt to new technologies, keep yourself updated and document whatever we are learning/doing and be vigilant to even last minute changes as it’s very important in the card industry.
When you’re not at GPS what do you get up to in your free time?
Family is very important to me so I am mainly spending time with them and playing with my children. Their laughter is the medicine to my tough days.
If you could be anyone who would it be and why?
Growing up under the guidance and protection of my father I always looked up to him. He is the most close to perfect human being I have ever known. His character has inspired me a lot. If asked to list reasons, these are the qualities I admire and wish to imbibe in my life as well:
– Loving & caring nature
– Always friendly & helpful to everyone
– Being truthful to whatever he does
– A great way of handling difficult or critical situations
